It depends on your passport. Many nationalities get visa-free entry for short tourist stays (typically up to 90 days), but requirements change, so check your country's Japanese embassy site 8–12 weeks before departure. Tell us your passport country when you book and we'll flag anything you need to handle in advance.
For cherry blossom season (late March–early April) or peak autumn foliage (November), book 4–6 months ahead — flights and hotels sell out early. For other seasons, 6–8 weeks is usually enough.
We run booking as a free consultation by design, not an online checkout — no card details or payment are collected on this site. After you send a request, a guide will follow up directly to shape the itinerary and confirm a deposit schedule and payment method for your specific trip.
Small on purpose — most trips run 4–12 travelers with one or two dedicated guides, never a busload. See each tour's page for its exact group size.
Expect 8,000–15,000 steps on an active day (temples, markets, and city exploring add up). Days are paced with breaks, and guides can adjust the route for slower walkers — just let us know when you book.
Yes — most trips have solo travelers in the group. Rooms are priced double-occupancy by default; ask about the solo supplement or a roommate match when you send your inquiry.
Prices are shown per person, double-occupancy, in your selected display currency (USD, EUR, or JPY) at an indicative rate — not a live exchange rate. Your guide will confirm the final quoted price and payment currency directly.
Late March–early April for cherry blossoms, November for autumn colors, December–February for powder snow in Hokkaido, and June–August is hot and humid but quieter on tourist crowds. Each tour page lists its recommended season.
Full tiered refund windows are on our Cancellation & Refund Policy page. In short: deposits are refundable up to 60 days before departure, partially refundable between 60–30 days, and non-refundable inside 30 days, since we've already paid hotels, guides, and transport on your behalf by then.
Comfortable walking shoes above all else. Layers year-round — Japan's seasons are distinct — and a portable IC card wallet for trains (we'll set this up with you on day one).
